MJ

Ever since I can remember, I have absolutely loved Michael Jackson.  That is, Michael Jackson the singer - not Michael Jackson the person.  I am sure he was a great guy, but kind of on the weird side.

Anyways, my all time favorite song is 'Billie Jean', and has been since I was little.  The best, and only way in my opinion, to listen to it to the crank the volume WAY up.  It seems as though, MJ is in your blood because Taylor loves him too.

That's my girl.

If she gets whiny in the car I just turn the volume way up and play 'Billie Jean' and she instantly smiles and starts bobbing her head to the beat.

Oh, don't worry we were parked in the driveway.  Another favorite thing to do of hers of late is to just sit in the car and push the buttons and crawl around.  Don't ask me why.  It keeps her happy though, so we do it.

Our Beach Vacation!

Taylor and I took a trip to see my BFF, Rachel, for her son, Jake's, 1st birthday party in Virginia Beach!  We have talked over the past year about us coming to see them, but was terrified to fly alone with Taylor the Tornado.  I honestly didn't know how she wold react.  But afterall, Rachel is my BFF so I was willing to do whatever it took to go see her!  It had been over a year since we saw each other, so we were way overdue.

She did great on the plane!  I had TONS of stuff to keep her occupied, she had a ball!  Her ears never seemed to bother her and she could care less about the scary takeoff and landing.

Once we got there, we wasted no time getting to the beach!  I knew Taylor would absolutely LOVE it - and she did!

This picture was taken 2 years ago when we where there last time (check out that blog here) .  I knew I had this picture and wanted to get another one with us and the two kids in the background just to show how much has changed in two years.

We spent more time at the beach where Rachel got these great shots of us

I love the one of us in the beach chair.  I even bought a frame that just screams 'tourist-y' that says 'our beach vacation'.

Taylor loved being at the beach.   She had absloutely no fear of the water and even laughed when the waves would knock her down!  Crazy kid.

The last evening we were there we took a walk on the boardwalk (which I have to say isn't a BOARDwalk....it's a cement walk.  The boardwalk is concrete!  False advertising).  The minute Taylor saw these, we had to get her out and take some pictures.

And just a few more pictures that are fun

The last picture cracks me up!  Both their facial expressions are priceless.

Thanks Rachel for such a fun trip!  We will remember it forever.

July 4th

On July 4th weekend, we went down to visit JT's family and to attend the 16th annual Wheelock July 4th parade!

Keep in mind Wheelock is population...oh... about 50!  It wasn't a glamorous, over the top parade, but fun nonetheless!

Taylor was decked out in her 4th of July outfit and pigtails.  She was a crowd favorite.

A Cope family photo (sorry for the underline, I can't get it to stop)
And last years family photo

Yes, I am wearing the same shirt.  I guess its my July 4th shirt.  Look at that chubby, little fuzz head!  ....No, not JT.  Taylor!

We all had a great time and glad Taylor got the see the parade - it will get her warmed up to Mardi Gras parades they have in Shreveport.  Those are over the top, but still fun.  (no there is no flashing for beads....don't worry)

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

We celebrated my Dad's 59th birthday on Thursday.  Doesn't look a day over 30 does he?

We went to eat at a place called The Flying Fish where they are some good, greasy things to eat...but also a few healthy ones too.

Taylor is way into pointing at things and talking 'Taylorish'
Before we left to go eat I set out the cake we made with some plates, forks and leftover birthday napkins from Taylor's party.  Well, this is what Taylor did...
Climbed up onto the chair, grabbed a fork and went after the cake!  I, of course, grabbed my camera before she got too far into the cake then promptly got her down where she then threw a tantrum.  Lucky for you, I didn't get a picture of that.

Anyways.  We came back to the house sang happy birthday and ate lots of cake!

Last years shot

Taylor ate a LOT of that cake and was asking for more.  Somehow she still went to sleep that night, I had my doubts.

Happy Birthday Dad/Grandpa!!!
